Festa della Diocesi, la Chiesa eugubina abbraccia mons. Ceccobelli per i 60 anni di sacerdozio

The Church of Gubbio celebrated the solemnity of the Dedication of the Cathedral on Sunday, September 20, marking both the diocesan feast and the 60th anniversary of Bishop Emeritus Mario Ceccobelli's priestly ordination.

During the homily, Bishop Luciano Paolucci Bedini welcomed Ceccobelli, noting that the retired bishop continues to support the local Church through his prayers. Ceccobelli spoke about his thirteen years leading the diocese and referred to the cathedral as the common home where the people of Gubbio gather across generations.

Ceccobelli also addressed the community to ask for forgiveness from the Church of Gubbio. Bishop Paolucci Bedini remarked that asking for forgiveness is necessary to protect communion, which he described as the greatest gift of the Church.
