Fête du Malonat 2026

The Diocese of Nice held the traditional Fête du Malonat on September 12 and 13, 2026, in Vieux-Nice to honor the Virgin Mary. The event commemorates 172 years of protection for Nice against a cholera epidemic.

Festivities began Saturday evening with a Rosary at the église du Gesù. This was followed by a torchlight procession to the Oratoire du Malonat, accompanied by the Lou Caireu Niçart folk group.

On Sunday, Father Luc Denoyer presided over a Mass featuring songs by Ciamada Nissarda. Many faithful attended the service before a procession to the Oratoire for the traditional blessing. The celebration concluded with a social gathering on the Terrassa dei Prioulessa.
