First ‘Ignite’ conference calls people to unceasing prayer

Fr. Trevor Nathasingh urged Catholics to prioritize prayer and intercession to defend their faith during the first Ignite Prayer Conference on September 26 at St. Mary’s College in Port of Spain.

The conference, organized by the Association of Catholic Intercessors and the Ministry of Zion RC Community, focused on the theme of praying without ceasing. Nathasingh warned that Christians face a spiritual battle against modern darkness and evil that requires intense fasting and prayer to prevent people from losing their faith.

Nathasingh also expressed concern that the Church has weakened its role as a voice of conscience by prioritizing comfort over truth. He stated that Catholics must take personal responsibility for their faith and treat prayer as a necessity rather than an option.
