Fism seeks alternatives after fire at Ganaceto kindergarten

The Federazione italiana scuole materne (Fism) is looking for alternative locations to place children after a fire at the Sacro Cuore kindergarten and nursery in Ganaceto. The fire occurred on Saturday afternoon at the Viazza street facility managed by the Fism province of Modena.

No one was injured or poisoned because the building was empty at the time of the blaze. Firefighters and law enforcement responded to the scene, and authorities are investigating the cause of the fire. Don Alberto Zironi, the president of the Fism province, was present at the site along with local authorities and families.

The Fism province, the Comune di Modena, the Unione Terre d’Argine, and the parish of San Giorgio Martire are exploring solutions to place the children in other structures. The service has 49 children enrolled in the kindergarten and 35 in the nursery, along with 19 employees.
