Fondazione Madonna del Soccorso to open new Rsa in Bientina

The Madonna del Soccorso Foundation will inaugurate the Madonna del Sacro Cuore nursing home and day center in Bientina on October 3, 2026. Located within the Archdiocese of Pisa, this facility marks the first time the foundation has expanded its operations outside its home diocese.

The center will provide residential care for up to 48 non-self-sufficient elderly people, alongside a day center for six additional elderly residents. Maria Regina Banti has been appointed as director. The staff will include seven nurses, 25 caregivers, two animators, two physiotherapists, two kitchen workers, and three general service workers.

The project was developed following requests from the Santa Maria Assunta parish in Bientina and the local municipal administration. Bishop Giovanni Paccosi and the former Archbishop of Pisa, Giovanni Paolo Benotto, laid the foundation stone on October 6, 2024. Local social and community groups participated in the two-year planning process to develop the facility's social program.
