Foresight, responsability and the common good – The Archbishop

Archbishop Charles Jude Scicluna called for prudence and foresight in governing Malta during a homily for Independence Day. He noted that while the nation has seen economic expansion and increased employment, rapid development and population growth have placed significant pressure on essential services.

The Archbishop identified specific areas facing these challenges, including roads, housing, electricity supply, drainage and sewage systems, waste management, healthcare, and the environment. He suggested that leaders must calculate the long term costs and consequences of growth before encouraging further population increases or development.
