Fr Alvan Ibeh: We Are Only Walking Miracles

Fr. Alvan Ibeh wrote in a recent column for the Diocese of East Anglia that every person is a walking miracle sustained by God's grace.

The priest, who serves as a hospital chaplain two days a week, developed this reflection after providing pastoral support to a family following a death. During a conversation with another chaplain after the encounter, she remarked that everyone is like a walking miracle.

Ibeh noted that while people often pray for extraordinary interventions such as healing or restored relationships, they frequently overlook the miracle of daily life. He suggested that the simple act of sleeping and waking up each morning is a sign of being sustained by God.
