França: Papa destaca aumento de batismos de adultos e fala em sinal de esperança

Pope Leo XIV called for the continuous accompaniment of new converts during a visit to the Catholic Institute of Paris on September 26, 2026. Speaking to recent converts and those preparing for baptism, confirmation, and the Eucharist, the Pope noted an increase in adults seeking sacraments within a highly secularized French society.

The Pope urged Catholic communities to take responsibility for this trend rather than adopting a defeatist attitude. He stated that the phenomenon should not lead to naive optimism but should instead prompt concrete pastoral actions to support those who have begun their faith journey.
