France sees 6% rise in anti-Christian acts

Anti-Christian acts in France rose to 40% of all recorded antireligious incidents during the first half of 2026, according to data released by Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez.

The figures, which were shared in an interview with La Croix, show that 1,150 antireligious acts were recorded in the country during the first six months of the year. While antisemitic acts accounted for 46% of these incidents and anti-Muslim acts accounted for 14%, the proportion of anti-Christian acts increased from 34% to 40%.
