Free Faith Security Training at St John’s Cathedral

St John the Baptist Cathedral in Norwich will host free Faith Security Training sessions on Monday, October 19, and Tuesday, October 20. The Diocese of East Anglia invites clergy, staff, trustees, and volunteers from all Christian denominations to attend the full day sessions, which run from 10am to 5pm in the Narthex Hall.

The training is part of a national scheme funded by the Home Office and delivered by CDS Support to help faith communities protect places of worship from crime, anti-social behavior, and other threats. Participants will learn to identify potential security risks, take preventative action, and respond to incidents. The course also provides guidance on security governance and uses realistic risk scenarios.

While the training is intended to complement existing safeguarding or security programs, it is not a replacement for them. Attendance is free, but participants must book in advance.
