Pope Leo XIV visited the cockpit of his aircraft to serve as an officer of the flight during a trip from Lourdes to Metz. The captain invited the pope into the cockpit on the final day of his apostolic journey in France, according to Rome Reports.

The flight occurred on Monday, September 28, the same day the pope attended an interfaith gathering escorted by two fighter jets. Following the gathering, the pope returned to Rome that evening. This visit to the cockpit follows a similar event in Spain, where the pope viewed the cockpit upon arriving in Barcelona.
