Funchal: «À hora de almoço, alimente a alma!» – igreja do Colégio tem uma Missa às 13h15

The Colégio Church in Funchal resumed its 1:15 pm Mass on Thursday, September 17. The church in the Diocese of Funchal invited people in the city center to use their lunch break for spiritual nourishment before returning to their daily tasks.

The Diocese of Funchal's online newspaper, Jornal da Madeira, stated that this midday celebration offers people a chance to pause their daily rhythm for prayer and the Eucharist. The newspaper added that the Mass is accessible to anyone seeking strength during their workday or other occupations.

The church, also known as the Church of Saint John the Evangelist, is open every day. Daily activities include the Eucharist, the Rosary, and confessions, while the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament follows a weekly schedule. The church also hosts the Espaço Frassati at Largo do Município, a space for university and secondary school students to meet, study, and grow in faith through a partnership with the Departamento do Ensino Superior e Universitário.
