Spencer noted that Diana was highly sensitive to criticism, which left her emotionally devastated. He expressed sadness that the same patterns of treatment are visible today regarding Harry and Meghan. He also addressed perceptions regarding his stance on royal family tensions, stating he is on the side of both of his sister's children, Prince William and Prince Harry, and remains available to both.

Princess Diana died at age 36 following a car accident on August 31, 1997, while being pursued by paparazzi. Spencer previously criticized the media's handling of his sister during her funeral.
