Galicia participa en el encuentro de protección de menores

Directors from the child protection offices of the five Galician dioceses attended the ninth meeting of Church child protection offices on September 18 and 19. The gathering, titled "Child Abuse Between Artificial Intelligence and Reality," addressed how digital environments and social media create new risks for minors.

Participants examined how artificial intelligence affects the prevention of abuse and the protection of vulnerable people. The sessions covered new forms of online abuse, the ethics of care in the digital age, and how artificial intelligence influences the work of pastoral agents. The meeting also highlighted the need for training to help staff recognize digital risks and act responsibly.

The program included working groups focused on prevention, accompaniment, and reparation. During the event, victims who completed comprehensive reparation processes shared their experiences with the attendees.
