Gaza: Diretor das escolas católicas pede intervenção da comunidade internacional

Father Ibrahim Faltas, director of the Custody of the Holy Land schools, called for international intervention to stop the deaths of innocent people following the collapse of a residential building in Gaza.

Writing for the Vatican news portal, the Franciscan priest described the tragedy at a site known as the palace of joy, where a precarious structure collapsed on approximately 100 people seeking refuge. Father Faltas reported that local residents attempted to rescue neighbors buried under the debris by digging with their own hands. He warned that improvised shelters in the city continue to collapse because they have been weakened by successive Israeli air and ground attacks.

Father Faltas urged the international community to continue speaking and acting for peace, stating that silence is deadly. He noted that the suffering of mothers in Gaza risks leading to a cycle of revenge rather than love.
