Giáo Xứ Vinh Sơn Welcomes First Parish Priest

Vinh Son Parish welcomed its first pastor, Father Ephrem Truong Cuong, during a Mass on October 6, 2026. The appointment marks a historical milestone for the community, which has operated without its own pastor for 34 years.

The parish was officially established on July 2, 2021, when Bishop Aloisiô of the Diocese of Kon Tum separated it from Phu Tho Parish. Since its founding, the community of approximately 550 parishioners relied on priests from Phu Tho Parish to celebrate Mass and administer the sacraments.

The community previously managed its spiritual life through the parish pastoral council and various local groups. The arrival of Father Cuong follows the announcement made on September 22, 2026, regarding his appointment as the inaugural pastor.
