Gràcies, Mn.Guillem Pons

Bishop Gerard presented a plaque to Father Guillem Pons Pons to recognize his long career of service to the Church and Menorcan society. The bishop honored the priest for his commitment to spreading the Gospel with a plaque featuring an image of the Virgin of El Toro.

Journalist and researcher Miquel Àngel Limón presented a look at the life of Father Pons, who celebrated his 95th birthday on July 21 and has served as a priest for 72 years. Father Pons previously served in parishes in Sant Lluís, Es Mercadal, and Sant Francesc de Maó before beginning missionary work in Peru in October 1976. He has also worked as an author and a collaborator for Es Diari, focusing on sacred heritage and local history.
