Grande Romaria Caminho de São José de Ribamar reúne milhares de fiéis em manifestação de fé no Maranhão

Thousands of pilgrims participated in the Grande Romaria Caminho de São José de Ribamar on Saturday, September 19, to honor the patron saint of Maranhão. The procession followed the MA-201 highway, bringing together devotees from various regions for a day of prayer and penance.

The pilgrimage included eight prayer stations along the route. At each stop, participants paused for approximately ten minutes to reflect on the life, humility, work, and protection of Saint Joseph of Ribamar toward the Holy Family.

The event coincides with the official feast day of Saint Joseph of Ribamar. Both the state and municipal governments have legally established September 19 as a day of celebration for the patron saint.
