Faithful celebrate feast of Blessed Father Victor

Faithful celebrated the feast of Blessed Francisco de Paula Victor on September 23 in Três Pontas, Brazil. A festive Mass was held in the city where the priest lived and served for more than five decades.

During the homily, Father Roberto Nogueira of the Diocese of Campanha described the former slave as the Apostle of Charity. He presented the life of Blessed Victor as an example of perseverance and dedication to those in need. Father Nogueira encouraged the congregation to follow this path of courage and love for God and neighbors, noting that life's difficulties do not prevent a person from answering the call to holiness.

Pope Francis has previously identified Blessed Victor as a model for all priests, describing him as a humble servant of the people of God.
