Houthi rebels clash with Aden forces in Yemen

Houthi rebels and Aden forces are engaged in violent clashes across western Yemen, leaving more than 120 people dead. Artillery strikes, ballistic missiles, and drones have hit the region continuously since yesterday, placing the strategic provinces of Taiz and Hodeidah under siege.

The fighting has caused thousands of people to flee, overwhelming refugee camps that were already at capacity. The United Nations condemned the rebel attacks and urged a return to negotiations to prevent an immediate escalation of the conflict and a worsening humanitarian crisis.
