I mosaici di Rupnik a Lourdes: «Per alcune vittime di abusi erano le braccia degli aggressori e per questo li abbiamo coperti»

Father Michel Daubanes, rector of the Sanctuary of Lourdes, explained that the mosaics by Rupnik were designed to cover certain parts of the figures because those areas represented the arms of abusers for some victims of abuse. Daubanes stated that the decision to create the mosaics in this way followed the input of victims.

The rector also addressed the recent approval of French legislation regarding the right to die. He noted that the sick people arriving at the sanctuary every day serve as a testimony to the importance of life, which he described as a gift. These comments come as the city prepares to welcome the Pope, who is scheduled to meet with some victims during his visit.
