Cardinal Pietro Parolin met with a youth delegation from Nazareth on September 16 to discuss the challenges facing Christians in the Holy Land. The meeting, organized by Father Harold Toledano as part of the initiative "In illo uno unum ab oriente et occidente," served as a dialogue regarding the spiritual and practical necessity of maintaining a Christian presence in the region.

A young man named Fadi asked how the universal Church and the Vatican could support Christians who have chosen to stay in the Holy Land despite the declining number of believers in the region. He expressed concern about ensuring that the Christian presence remains a living testimony rather than just a memory of the past.

Cardinal Parolin responded by stating that losing the Christian presence would strip the Holy Land of its living heart and turn sacred sites into mere archaeological relics. He described the young people as living stones and a sign of hope for the Church.
