The Chamber of Architects concluded that the experts responsible for works in the Kripta Bartolott at San Ġwann Co-Cathedral did not commit any professional misconduct. The Council reached this decision unanimously with an 8-0 vote and imposed no sanctions.

The proceedings began in January 2025 following a report by The Shift News alleging that a floor in the crypt had subsided and caused damage to the historic site. After eight sessions involving witness examinations and technical documentation, the Council found no evidence that the floor fell or caused damage to the burial chambers below.

The Chamber stated that the movement in the stone floor was attributed to pre-existing conditions documented since 2014. The issue was identified and remedied through consultation with the Sovrintendenza tal-Wirt Kulturali. The Chamber also noted that the reporting by The Shift News regarding the case was materially incorrect.
