Bishop Giovanni Paccosi issued a message to students, teachers, and families in the Diocese of San Miniato to mark the start of the new school year.

In his message, Bishop Paccosi described the beginning of the school year as a promise to grow, learn about reality, and understand oneself through others. He encouraged the school community to follow the example of Jesus by embracing all people and reality. He specifically called for the construction of a civilization of love, which he defined as a society where service and the desire to know and love others replace division and hatred.

The bishop noted that school provides the tools and abilities necessary to learn how to serve others more effectively. He concluded by wishing the community a good school year and expressed hope for future opportunities to gather together within schools or local pastoral communities.
