In a letter sent to the region's bishops to mark the third centenary of the canonization of Saint Toribio de Mogrovejo, the Pope addressed the nature of the episcopal ministry.

The Pope warned bishops against abandoning their flocks, noting that this can occur when personal interests, fear, or comfort become more important than the good of the community. He also encouraged them to prioritize their inner lives and ensure that prayer never becomes a secondary concern.
