Bishop Mario Vaccari delivers pastoral letter

Bishop Mario Vaccari delivered a pastoral letter titled "The Lord gave me brothers" to the community of the Diocese of Massa Carrara–Pontremoli on October 4, 2026. He presented the letter following a solemn pontifical Mass at the Cathedral held on the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi.

Cardinal Angelo De Donatis presided over the celebration. Attendees included local priests, civil and military authorities, and representatives from the dioceses of Modena and Piacenza.

In the letter, Bishop Vaccari wrote that after the death of Saint Francis, the saint continues to say that Church reform does not begin with structures, but with the brothers the Lord gives and the Gospel form used to live.
