The UĦM Voice of the Workers union criticized the government for changing its approach to negotiating collective and sectoral agreements. The union stated that the government previously negotiated and finalized several agreements involving substantial financial packages, sometimes insisting that these deals be concluded before the general election.

According to a media statement from the union, the government now claims the country's financial situation does not allow for favorable packages. The UĦM argued that the shift is so sudden that it appears as though negotiators are dealing with a different government than the one they spoke to before the election.

The union noted that while the government secured another mandate through the election, its current stance is unacceptable. The UĦM maintains that the government must honor the standards established in agreements made before the election when negotiating with all public entities. The union's governance board has discussed the matter, and the organization is monitoring upcoming collective and sectoral negotiations.
