‘In mission we are one in love’

The Diocese of Owensboro held its Parish Ministry and Leadership Conference on August 29, 2026, at the Owensboro Convention Center. The biennial event brought together Hispanic and English-speaking communities under the theme One Church, United in Mission.

Fr. Larry Hostetter, pastor of St. Pius X Parish in Owensboro, delivered the English-language keynote address. He discussed the vision of Jesus regarding Church unity and referenced Saint Augustine’s teaching that the Holy Spirit serves as the bond of unity within the Church. Fr. Hostetter spoke about historical disunity and emphasized that the Church's mission flows from prayer and the Eucharist.
