In our relationship with God, let’s approach him with an open heart not a measuring stick – The Archbishop

Archbishop Charles Jude Scicluna urged the faithful to approach God with an open heart rather than using human standards of measurement.

During a homily for the 25th Sunday, the Archbishop used a parable to explain that God's ways and thoughts differ from human understanding. He noted a human tendency to compare oneself to others, specifically regarding expectations of reward.

Scicluna explained that while human justice often dictates that those who work more should receive more, the Lord in the parable ensures everyone receives a fair day's wage, known as a denarius. He noted that even those who worked only one hour were given the same pay as those who worked thirteen hours. The Archbishop stated that the master's intention was to ensure everyone had the opportunity to enjoy a full day's wage at their table.
