Inflation, not interest rates, is hitting Australia’s most vulnerable the hardest, Church body says

Inflation is placing a heavier burden on Australia's most vulnerable people than interest rates, according to Catholic Social Services Australia.

Dr. Jerry Nockles, the chief executive officer of the Church's peak social services body, said inflation acts as a crushing weight that erodes people's lives rather than being just a statistic. His comments followed the Reserve Bank of Australia raising interest rates to a 15-year high.
