Interfaith Youth Forum Seeks to Push for Inclusion of Renewable Energy in Kenya’s 2027 Election Agenda

Organizers of the 2026 Interfaith Youth Forum in Kenya are calling for renewable energy access to be included in the country's 2027 election agenda. The organizers want young people and stakeholders to prioritize sustainable and affordable energy in political and development discussions before the upcoming elections.

The two day event is scheduled for September 18 to 19 at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. Under the theme "Youth in Faith, Renewable Energy Access for Fair and Peaceful Elections in Kenya," the forum will also address how political actors might manipulate young people during the 2027 polls. Organizers stated that connecting energy affordability to the electoral context can help drive sustainability within Kenyan communities.

The forum is convened annually in September by Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation Franciscans Africa. They host the event alongside the Laudato Si’ Movement Africa and the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
