Archbishop Longley celebrates SVP Annual Festival Mass

Archbishop Bernard Longley will celebrate the Annual Festival Mass for the St Vincent de Paul Society Birmingham Central Council on Saturday 26 September. The event takes place at St Chad's Cathedral in Birmingham.

The program includes Holy Mass at 12noon, a buffet lunch in the Grimshaw Room at 1.15pm, and a presentation by guest speaker Sir John Battle at 2.15pm. As the patron of the St Vincent de Paul Society, Sir John Battle will speak on the theme of retaining a Catholic prophetic voice by blending prayer and action, reflecting on Pope Leo XIV’s first encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas. Sir John is a former Labour MP for Leeds West and a former Minister of State for Trade and Industry and at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
