IV Domenica dopo il Martirio di san Giovanni il Precursore

The Diocese of Milano has released the liturgical readings and prayers for the IV Sunday after the Martyrdom of St. John the Baptist.

The assembly includes an opening prayer asking God to grant the faithful the ability to sing praises with pure hearts and illuminated spirits, while seeking healing from sin through grace. The readings feature a passage from Isaiah, in which the text asks God to descend from the heavens and calls for recognition of God's name among enemies. The passage describes the people's history of rebellion and sin, noting that their previous acts of justice were like unclean garments and that they had become withered like leaves due to iniquity.
