Pabalelong Hospice in Botswana holds joyful reunion

Pabalelong Hospice in Botswana hosted a reunion for former patients and their families on Sept. 17, 2026. The gathering, which occurs annually or every other year, allowed those who returned home after receiving care to reconnect with staff and share their progress.

Thirteen patients and five relatives attended the event. The program included prayer, Scripture, personal testimonies, games, and entertainment led by hospice staff. During the gathering, board member Tebogo Magakwa thanked the staff and encouraged former patients to tell others about the care they received at the hospice.

Staff prepared for the event by contacting former patients a month in advance. While organizers expected approximately 40 patients, the actual attendance was lower. Staff members noted that several former patients showed significant physical improvement, with some walking without wheelchairs or walking frames and others returning to work. Attendees received snacks, a meal, gifts, and food to take home.
