Knights of Columbus Columbus Day Mass
The Knights of Columbus St. Charles Parish Council 753 held a special Mass and Eucharistic Procession in Bellows Falls, Vermont, to observe Columbus Day. Knights of Columbus State Chaplain Fr. Timothy Naples celebrated the Mass, which was offered for an increase in vocations to serve the Church.
Fr. Naples spoke about the spread of Catholicism in the New World since 1492 and noted that the evangelization of the new world in the 1500s succeeded through the intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Following the liturgy, Fourth Degree Sir Knights formed an honor guard for a procession on public sidewalks, which included canopy bearers for the Blessed Sacrament and an image of Christopher Columbus. Fr. Naples served as the monstrance bearer and led the group in hymns such as Come Holy Ghost and Joyful Joyful. The procession concluded with a final benediction at St. Charles Borromeo Church, followed by a fraternal dinner for the organizers, honor guard, and music ministers.
