Bishop Matthieu Rougé of Nanterre addressed the final session of a conference on Christian fractures held at the Institut de France on December 29, 2025. The symposium was organized by Rémi Brague, Pierre Manent, Chantal Delsol, and Philippe d’Iribarne.

During his remarks, Bishop Rougé identified two similar attitudes that polarize faith through politicization. He described these opposing forces as reactionary intransigence on one side and endless progressivism on the other.
