Archdiocese of Toledo begins 2nd year of 26th Diocesan Synod

The Archdiocese of Toledo began the second year of its 26th Diocesan Synod on September 26 during a pastoral year opening day. Nearly 500 participants gathered at the San Julián parish and the auditorio del colegio diocesano “Ntra. Sra. de los Infantes” in Toledo for the event.

Archbishop Francisco Cerro Chaves led a period of community prayer and Eucharistic adoration at San Julián parish. During a meditation, the archbishop spoke on the pastoral year theme, “Tú tienes palabras de vida eterna,” and encouraged attendees to place Jesus Christ at the center of pastoral work for parishes and communities.

At the school, Enrique del Álamo, the episcopal vicar for laity, family, and life and delegate for the Diocesan Synod, presented the working materials for this second year of the synodal process. A team of priests and laity also presented a report on the first year of the synod and reviewed conclusions from the first general assembly.
