La Archidiócesis prepara ya la participación de los jóvenes sevillanos en la JMJ de Seúl

The Archdiocese of Seville is preparing for the participation of local youth in the World Youth Day in Seoul from August 3 to 8, 2027. Manuel Jiménez, the diocesan delegate for youth ministry, recently returned from preparatory work sessions in Seoul representing the archdiocese through the Consejo Nacional de Juventud and the Subcomisión de la CEE.

Jiménez noted that distance and transportation costs present challenges, stating that the Diocesan Delegation of Youth Ministry is not a travel agency. He explained that work is underway to offer a proposal centered on the experience of a pilgrim Church being welcomed by another Church.

Because of these costs, Jiménez said the archdiocese will not be able to send thousands of participants as it has on other occasions. He suggested that parish communities should consider the responsibility of the sending Church, noting that even if a parish sends one young person, that individual can return with a testimony to enrich other youth.
