La Chiesa cecoslovacca al tempo di Ludmila Javorová

Francesco Strazzari described the history of the underground Church in Czechoslovakia during the communist regime following the death of Ludmila Javorová on September 17. Strazzari noted that the era was defined by believers who maintained their faith under difficult circumstances during both the regime and the period of liberation.

According to Strazzari, Karel Hruza, the director of the Czechoslovak Secretariat for Religious Affairs, previously identified Felix Davídek as a clandestine bishop working in a hospital in Brno. Hruza told Strazzari that the underground Church operated against the law and noted that Davídek had chosen Javorová as his vicar general. Strazzari also reported that Hruza believed the Vatican did not have an accurate understanding of the situation in the country.
