Bishop Jesús Rico García to preside over the delivery of the medal of Isabel la Católica to Santa Teresa de Jesús

Bishop Jesús Rico García will preside over the presentation of the medal of Isabella the Catholic to the image of St. Teresa of Jesus this Wednesday at 20:00. The ceremony will take place at the Basilica of the Santa during the traditional novena honoring the patroness of Avila. Father Francisco Sánchez Oreja, the provincial of the Carmelitas Descalzos in Spain, will also attend.

The presentation marks the start of religious activities for the feast of St. Teresa of Jesus on October 15. Other scheduled events include a musical recital dedicated to St. Teresa of Jesus and San Juan de la Cruz on Saturday, October 10, at 20:45, and the Misa Rociera on Monday, October 12, at 13:00 featuring the coro de la Hermandad de Nuestra Señora del Rocío (Ávila). On October 14, the Basilica will host solemn Vespers at 18:30.
