Gabriele Goria, Vito Mancuso, and Armando Buonaiuto led a reflection and meditation retreat from August 27 to 29 at the San Giovanni Gualberto spirituality center in Passignano-Barberino Tavarnelle. The program addressed how individuals can respond to the harm and suffering they experience in life.

Vito Mancuso described how unexpected hardships disrupt life and diminish a person's sense of control. He noted that wounds change how people view life because humans possess an inherent desire to receive good. Mancuso suggested that people can manage these wounds by using their physical, mental, and spiritual energies. The retreat encouraged participants to look beyond daily struggles toward eternal truths to find healing for their wounds.
