The Diocese of Jaén is launching a new permanent pastoral formation course for its clergy for the 2026-2027 academic year. The program aligns with the Diocesan Pastoral Plan theme of mission and public presence.

The course consists of three sessions. The curriculum is designed to help priests study the role of Christians in society, the specific duties of the clergy in public life, and how priests can accompany laypeople serving in public roles.

The first session, titled Christians in Public Life, will take place on October 5 at the Casa de la Iglesia. Ildefonso Camacho Laraña, SJ, a professor emeritus from the Facultad de Teología de Granada, will deliver the two main lectures. The morning begins with prayer at 10:00, followed by the first lecture at 10:30, a second talk at 12:00, and a dialogue session at 13:00.
