La Iglesia aborda los nuevos retos en la protección de menores ante el avance de la inteligencia artificial

Church child protection offices held their ninth meeting on September 18 and 19 to discuss how artificial intelligence and digital environments create new risks for minors. The meeting, titled "Minor Abuse Between Artificial Intelligence and Reality," examined how these technologies affect the prevention and protection of children.

Bishop Luis Manuel Alí Herrera, secretary of the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors, opened the event with a greeting to the participants. Amparo Alonso Escobar, CEO of Ethical Artificial Intelligence for Human Development SL, spoke about new forms of abuse on social media and the ethics of care in the age of artificial intelligence. Father Antonio Carrón de la Torre, OAR, a professor at the Gregorian University in Rome, discussed how artificial intelligence influences pastoral workers.

The program included working group meetings focused on prevention, accompaniment, and reparation.
