La “Papa Giovanni XXIII” torna in piazza con “Un pasto al giorno”

The Papa Giovanni XXIII Community will hold the Un Pasto al Giorno initiative on Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, to raise awareness about world hunger. The event will take place in public squares across Italy.

Participants who stop at the event will receive a wooden magnet shaped like a puzzle piece. These pieces form a large illustration by Filippo Serafini that depicts a long table where the community welcomes children, the elderly, people with disabilities, the homeless, families, volunteers, and missionaries. The community uses the puzzle symbol to show that individual contributions are necessary to address hunger.

The puzzle was produced by the Ro’ La Formichina social cooperative, an organization founded by the Papa Giovanni XXIII Community in the province of Catania. The cooperative employs individuals who were previously excluded from the workforce, helping them reintegrate through woodworking.
