La residencia Purísima de Murgia amplia su equipo de voluntariado

The Purísima Concepción elderly residence in Murgia is launching a campaign to expand its volunteer team. Managed by the Hijas de la Caridad de San Vicente Paúl, the facility is seeking people of all ages and backgrounds from the Zuia Valley and the city of Vitoria to help meet new service needs.

The residence is looking for volunteers to assist with walking and companionship, but also to participate in cognitive stimulation programs, end-of-life support, and active listening. Other opportunities include organizing workshops, hosting festive events like dances, singing in the Sunday Mass choir, and joining the pastoral team for retreats and catechesis.

The facility can accommodate 63 elderly residents and was founded in 1868. Following a major renovation, the residence moved into a new building designed to support seniors with high levels of dependency. Management noted that many current volunteers are already friends and family members of the residents.
