La Universidad de Huelva da inicio a su nuevo curso académico con una Eucaristía presidida por el Obispo

The Bishop of Huelva, Santiago Gómez Sierra, presided over a Mass to mark the start of the 2026-2027 academic year at the University of Huelva on September 18. The celebration took place at the Santa María Sedes Sapientiae University Church and included representatives from the university and various institutions.

During his homily, which focused on the parable of the talents, Bishop Gómez Sierra encouraged students, professors, and researchers to use their gifts to serve the truth and society. He stated that the Eucharist is not a religious break from university life but a school of life where knowledge and talents reach fulfillment through service to others.

The event included the participation of University Pastoral delegate Enrique Uzcátegui Rodríguez, the rector of the Diocesan Seminary Juan José Feria Toscano, and priest Ignacio Virseda. The celebration highlighted the commitment of University Pastoral to provide spiritual accompaniment to the academic community and to support a university open to dialogue and the common good.
