French bishops launch national network for victims of sexual violence

French bishops have voted to establish a national network of companions to support victims of sexual violence within the Church. This network will be coordinated by an independent body.

The decision follows the conclusion of the mandate for the Instance nationale indépendante de reconnaissance et de réparation (Inirr) on August 31, 2026. The bishops approved the plan during their most recent plenary assembly.
