Arcivescovo Moscone calls for public health protection and cessation of rearmament

Archbishop Moscone called for the protection of public health and an end to military rearmament during the feast of St. Michael the Archangel at the Sanctuary of Monte Sant’Angelo. Speaking before civil and military authorities and pilgrims, the Archbishop addressed the value of life, social security, and peace.

The Archbishop expressed deep concern regarding the recent decision to remove a second emergency medical station and its ambulance from Manfredonia. He stated that while such cuts are often justified by the need for economic stability, removing emergency medical services weakens essential security for citizens.

Moscone noted that these local issues reflect a broader trend in Italy and Europe. He criticized the contradiction of sacrificing public health to support the arms trade, arguing that such actions conflict with European values of civilization, humanism, and solidarity.
