Las pinturas de García Ibáñez para el Saliente de Albox (Almería)

Bishop Gómez Cantero consecrated a new altar at the Saliente de Albox sanctuary in Almería on September 6. The ceremony also unveiled a series of contemporary sacred murals created over the last 2 years by artist Andrés García Ibáñez.

The new paintings depict scenes from the Apocalypse. According to Alfa y Omega, the artwork serves to encourage devotion and to act as a tool for teaching the faith. The murals aim to balance tradition and modernity by following the standards for sacred images established by the Council of Trent and the Second Vatican Council.
