Lazarist Peter Žakelj celebrates Mass at Mirenski Grad

Lazarist Peter Žakelj celebrated Mass at Mirenski Grad during a recent celebration of the kvatrnica. The event coincided with the feast of the patroness of the local church.

During the Saturday evening Mass, Žakelj reflected on the attitude of Mary at the cross. He spoke about how Mary faced pain through trust and suggested that the Church and society need a spirit of dialogue. He noted that true dialogue begins with asking questions and listening rather than passing judgment. Žakelj emphasized that people often need others to simply remain present with them during suffering rather than offering explanations or solutions.

The festivities began on Friday with an evening procession on the path to Mirenski Grad. Participants also offered prayers for the renewal of the Church in Slovenia.
